Figured I should make a thread collecting my doily posts.

These are all knit by me, mostly from designs by Herbert Niebling, a prolific designer from the early 20th century.

Check out his Wikipedia page (which I also created!) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbert...

What if — and stick with me here for a sec — there have always been some young white men in America who are right-wing, and the reason is because they agree with right-wing stances, and therefore we don't need a novel "look what you made me do" explanation for why some today were "forced" into it.

Another one of my vintage acrylic paintings. Not quite abstract, but me fumbling around trying to recreate an sensory memory. The process was more about recreating the Proust Effect of a childhood memory lingering in my mind.

In 2010, I studied citations to Kuhn's Structure of Scientific Revolutions, showing that scholars that mistyped their refs to Kuhn generally pulled those mistypes from other articles with the same errors, and in those cases often cited Kuhn incorrectly, suggesting they likely didn't read the book.

I know very few things about boxing but I can definitely tell I'm watching someone who rules at this play with someone who thinks he rules at this, get bored, and drop his sorry ass 'cuz he's got better shit to do.

Professionnel athletes are way better at their jobs than you think.

No, even way better than that.

Gonna stop looking at the Epstein Files in a second because I'm frankly way too skeeved out to keep going but I will say this: the CSAM isn't blacked out nearly enough while the faces of guys in ties are obscured by vanta black rectangles the size of the sun.

in my heart I feel like Pope Leo is yanking him offstage with a big white cane like they do in Looney Tunes when a bad singer goes on too long

I don't know the first thing about professional boxing, but I have been surprisingly entertained by reading people's reactions to this fight
The wikipedia editors are on fire tonight.

When we have breaking news or severe weather and the news has to get on the air at a time we're not normally scheduled, the producer in the control room has to call a closed captioning hub and they scramble a live captioner for our breaking news b/c it's an FCC requirement and we can get fined!

A west of Ireland #painting to look at. "Kilkee Cliffs" of County Clare was one I painted during an exhausting 24-hour live stream where I painted dozens of paintings. I still dream of doing such 24-hour painting events again. #art #SpeirGhorm #ArtAdventCalendar

JUST IMPEACH TRUMP

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
Breaking:

Rep. Ro Khanna says the Trump DOJ's production "does not comply with" the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

Khanna says he and Rep. Thomas Massie "are exploring all options" — including impeachment of DOJ officials, inherent contempt, or referring individuals for obstruction of justice.

Day 19 of #ArtAdventCalendar.
It's a cold, windy day in Toronto today. When I worked downtown, there were many winter days that I hurried up Bay St. on my lunch hour to shop, then rushed back down to the office. Bay St. is ALWAYS windy and the lunch hour outing above ground was as quick as possibly.
