In 2010, I studied citations to Kuhn's Structure of Scientific Revolutions, showing that scholars that mistyped their refs to Kuhn generally pulled those mistypes from other articles with the same errors, and in those cases often cited Kuhn incorrectly, suggesting they likely didn't read the book.

Used my permanent black pens, a water-soluble black calligraphy marker and a water brush pen with some of the black marker giving off green tints instead of grey. Depicts my view within a local coffee shop looking at the counter and the display unit for food and muffins/cakes. Didn't quite have the nerve to try drawing people in - and they didn't stay still for long enough either.

When we have breaking news or severe weather and the news has to get on the air at a time we're not normally scheduled, the producer in the control room has to call a closed captioning hub and they scramble a live captioner for our breaking news b/c it's an FCC requirement and we can get fined!

Landscape format on mat board. Very loosely painted in acrylics. The very pale blue & green Atlantic Ocean comes in from the left crashing into the dark blues and greens that are the rocks and cliffs jutting out from the right in a series of rough receding promontories, darker the closer to the viewer, with lines of rocks at their bottoms. There is also a low streak of very dark blue and alizarin, almost black, rocks running horizontally in the foreground. The sky is wine-coloured, and the water is streaked with the under-painting of reds and yellows as well as the white highlights of the surf in streaks and splashes. Painting was photographed before I added my signature.

Day 19 of #ArtAdventCalendar.
It's a cold, windy day in Toronto today. When I worked downtown, there were many winter days that I hurried up Bay St. on my lunch hour to shop, then rushed back down to the office. Bay St. is ALWAYS windy and the lunch hour outing above ground was as quick as possibly.
A view south on Bay Street in Toronto, from Richmond St. The buildings rise up in either side of the street. A steady stream of traffic is heading north towards the viewer. On the left side five people are walking south. Three are together in the distance, and two singles. Each of them are bundled up, shoulders hunched against the cold and they're throwing long pink shadows behind them. The sky above is grey and cloudy with a bright sun shining through. The style is cartoonish and shows a community that though they're all in the same place, they're separated from each other in cars, walking alone.
