When the government accuses asylum seekers of being given "golden tickets" and "tearing the country apart" and the media cheers them on, you know the mainstream elite has accepted fascism as a valid alternative to the radical change needed to address the many crises this country is facing
Shabana Mahmood has vowed to end Britain’s “golden ticket” for asylum seekers by forcing people arriving illegally to wait 20 years before they can apply for permanent settlement
Shabana Mahmood: ‘Illegal migration is tearing Britain apart’
The home secretary is planning to introduce a 20-year wait for permanent stay to end a ‘golden ticket’ for asylum seekers

part of the reason for the rise of reform is labour trying to appeal to their supporters by aping their arguments and policies. all labour votes reward this strategy, your labour vote says "yes, i love racism, more racism please"
don't give labour a single vote under any circumstances

Finished watching The Diplomat on Netflix, which I enjoyed but I did feel that it could do with about 10% less Tom Clancy political intrigue and 20% more Jilly Cooper bonkbuster.

You'll notice that there are certain demographics in society - the poor, immigrants, disabled people - who we are constantly told live on easy street with the government lavishing them with riches, and even after decades of policy designed to stop this, still have it way too good.
No, I'd say it's racists and those pandering to them.

$5bn would be £160 from each and every TV License payer in this country. Are you ok with Donald Trump taking that money directly out of your pocket, because I'm bloody well not!

loads of problems would be resolved in our society if we embraced two truths:
1) sometimes you need to shut the fuck up and mind your own business
2) sometimes being mildly inconvenienced is essential for society to function and that starts at an interpersonal level

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Competitive sports of all kinds should be abolished and replaced with new, collaborative sports where everyone works together to complete a very difficult task. No losers, just the joy of watching teamwork in action.

It's funny, because it's true. Banking UX is broken. Fraud prevention teams are losing their minds while users get grilled with absurd questions, because a few clowns in a specially curated WhatsApp or FB investment group believe they'll miss out on 45% monthly returns if they don’t act right now🤑🤡🫣

Finally a politician who is honest about Donald Trump. No other party leader is on the level about this.
Zack Polanski on President Trump, "It's difficult to call him anything other than a fool"

"This is sociopathic behaviour"

"He is toxic, misogynistic, racist"

"I'm not a fan of Trump"

Christiane Amanpour, "It's pretty clear"

and a worker tier whose emails are like:

Dear Jim,
First of all, I *love* this idea! Unfortunately, I spoke with Legal and identified a few issues with this approach. For starters…
Well, it's a little clearer now why billionaires are so invested in technology that produces better written emails.
