Still boils my blood that they forced Michael Wood to resign over a few forgotten shares while NAT MPs get away with undeclared houses, donations and other 'interests' 🤬

What I'd just say to you is, who amongst us hasn't tried to hide that we own 23 houses? Anywho I've got a few words to say about the matter.

This is such an important point.
We can't get off this path by tinkering around the edges; we need a radical revisioning of how our government and society function.

One thing that NZers need to understand is that going for 100% completion on the original Rogernomics agenda is not a reversible thing. We will need to transform all this wreckage into something new. We can't just "rebuild", as has been proven many times over.

So,we voters get no say in choice in the matter?Luxon wants to scrap democratically elected representatives without voter approval?

How is this democratic?

Did they campaign on this in 2023?

Removing democratic representation is serious - what mandate do they have?

Just another reason to demand universal basic income. No one should have to live in a constant state of anxiety about their job, nor should anyone without a job suffer poverty as punishment.
I wrote about the stomach clenching reality of work now -- where rolling layoffs are the norm and no one feels secure in their job. Happy Monday! www.axios.com/2025/11/16/r...

These silent layoffs are now just a part of doing business.

One of the few good things about living in New Zealand is that you can look at the Labour Party and if you are like “wow I’m way more progressive than/left of them”, then you simply don’t have to give your party vote to them and move on with your life guilt free and vote for Greens 🤷🏽‍♀️

Just seems a little short while ago that various government politicians, and people acting as their media surrogates, were outraged and scandalized by, and poured scorn on, comments from younger women politicians for suggesting many people don't trust cops.

Highest levels of the force - filth.
Well, this story just got a lot fucking worse. www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/jevon-mcs...

Soooo many benefits.
I've been researching the idea of Unconditional Universal Basic Income since 2013. Here's a collection of findings I've compiled from various UBI experiments and studies of cash transfer programs around the world.

This will be a VERY LONG and ongoing thread focused entirely on empirical evidence. 🧵

I guess we're also supposed to forget that the media defending the fiscal honour of Triple-Dipper Luxon weren't quite so fastidious eight year aso, when it came to Metiria Turei's trial by media for benefit fraud almost thirty years before. She was fair game. #nzpol
What a bell end. The "attack" highlights the unfairness of someone uber-wealthy realising $600,000 in untaxed gains.

It's not diverting attention at all, but highlighting precisely why we need this policy.

Chippy should respond with "Rate dodger says what?"
