changed the rightmost label from an array of shared categories like ["website", "tool"] to a short, open-ended string that can contain more nuance like "procedural art" and "useless web". taxonomy is hard

i'd like to pull in my photo series from glass.photo. they don't have a public API but maybe I can do it with the RSS feed?

having a narrow focus for your site is strategic, and it probably helped me land jobs. but I'm getting to the point now where I want to do (and share) more artistic pursuits, "professional" or not. I don't want my website to be a glorified resume! I want it to be a place for me.

early career I remember putting everything I had ever made on my website. photography, t-shirts, print, schoolwork. I remember reading advice to only showcase the work you want to do more of; to cut out all the "unnecessary" stuff. I removed all the photography and shirts and focused on web design

yuck. i’ve had a handful of moments that prompted reevaluating my thoughts on past coworkers based on jobs they’ve since taken. it’s always weird and disappointing and leaves me with a bad feeling in my stomach

I hate the NazgΓ»l’s treatment of the hobbits as much as you do but the security of Middle Earth is critical in this age. I believe we can strike a balance between the rights of Shire residents and black land border enforcement with proper training and funding.

You know that annoying experience on mobile websites where you need to find the little close button and can't swipe a menu closed?

The solution is simpler than you think.

With basic CSS scroll APIs, you can get built-in interruptible swipe gestures πŸ₯³
