also, fascinating to me how much Into The Breach and similar has ended up inspiring gameplay in other titles, especially those with much different directions otherwise. thinking of it in context with last defense academy. lot less focus on levels, lot more on 'set 'em up, knock 'em down' gameply.

watched more demonschool. one way you can tell it's specifically inspired by persona 2 isn't just the artstyle, but the pacing. persona 2 is the crank 2 of JRPGs, hitting the gas from the start and never stopping, polar opposite of P3-5. demonschool similarly just gets right into things ASAP.
