WRITING TIP, something simple but it catches many of us out: if you have a great/fun idea for your story, *use it now*.
Don’t save your ideas for some nebulous other story you might write tomorrow. I promise you’ll have more.

I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

today while i was mushroom hunting i asked my friend if she could smell that "delightful fruity scent" and then remembered that old field guides say golden chanterelles emit a scent like fresh apricots. a few minutes of poking around later and i unearthed one the size of my entire head

Delighted to see @jmstar.bsky.social's and @rosscowman.bsky.social's games are featured here, they're so elegant and gorgeous and everyone should buy and play them. Also was treated to the description of Jason'swriting as "as dirty and delicate as a used needle" in the first five minutes 10/10

I've been saying for over a decade that @megueyb.bsky.social and @lumpley.bsky.social's work with Apocalypse World is arguably in the top four most influential works influencing what tabletop roleplaying games look like today. May this be the first of MANY honors given to AW in the mainstream!

Paper turned out a touch more opaque than I’d like, if I want to evoke that caul fat look, but the texture is basically what I wanted. Some unexpected integrity testing showed me it’s also pretty sturdy, so that’s nice

2. It's rare for any creative, including writers, to be able to live solely off their creative income. Moreover, there is no correlation between the creative value of art and the income status of its creator. It's okay to have another gig to eat and pay bills and survive our capitalist hellscape.

1. I see elsewhere on Bluesky that the discourse has turned toward telling writers not to be ashamed to admit they have day jobs or other sources of income (or spousal/family financial support), and you know what, that's 100% correct. Day jobs and support from loved ones are great if you have them!

YESSSSS the public domain jam is my favorite game jam of the year, and there's some great stuff entering public domain in 2026!
Six months ago I bought some of this specialty paper on steep discount bc it looks like caul fat, perfect for the cover of my zine club reward. Anyway now it's winter and the only way I'm getting this shit to adhere to paper is by making that paper myself and embedding it in each sheet, pray for me

even after years of having LC it's still so fuckin weird how i can be physically at rest, but bc i'm having a very active dev session that involves high cognitive activity when i hang up the phone i feel like i went for a 2 mile run

Finally finished this move in LEVIATHAN, my in-dev mech pilot game. The Bonding Moves push characters towards moments of healing and intimacy, either emotionally or physically. The one exception is when they're on the brink of death.
