today while i was mushroom hunting i asked my friend if she could smell that "delightful fruity scent" and then remembered that old field guides say golden chanterelles emit a scent like fresh apricots. a few minutes of poking around later and i unearthed one the size of my entire head

I need to figure out how to get better alignment when I couch the outermost sheets, you can see along the edges where I didn’t line them up quite right. But with some luck I’ll be able to improve that and get even better translucence on the next couple tests

Paper turned out a touch more opaque than I’d like, if I want to evoke that caul fat look, but the texture is basically what I wanted. Some unexpected integrity testing showed me it’s also pretty sturdy, so that’s nice

I'm working on my Patreon zine club members' rewards today, and I accidentally printed one of upcoming zine covers on a sheet of black cardstock. I kind of love the effect of that black-on-black, barely visible toner. (Shades of Esoteric @jdragsky.bsky.social 🖤)

Six months ago I bought some of this specialty paper on steep discount bc it looks like caul fat, perfect for the cover of my zine club reward. Anyway now it's winter and the only way I'm getting this shit to adhere to paper is by making that paper myself and embedding it in each sheet, pray for me

Finally finished this move in LEVIATHAN, my in-dev mech pilot game. The Bonding Moves push characters towards moments of healing and intimacy, either emotionally or physically. The one exception is when they're on the brink of death.

Anyone know what type of foam this might be? It’s very dense and firm, and was the insert for a USB-A to USB-C adapter, not sure how much that narrows it down lol this might be a long shot

Making more progress in early stage dev for LEVIATHAN, today honing the table materials. The most productive, fruitful, and downright fun focus group session so far, home game group remains unbeaten (apologies in advance to @windienine.bsky.social for my usual quality of organization in notetaking)

Watched a movie with one of my closest friends, my partner surprised me by driving down from the PNW unannounced to spend the afternoon together, calls with my family, and my first saffron crocus bloomed today. For a birthday I was too busy to celebrate that ain’t too bad! Here’s to many more 💖
