Te Whatu Ora have been told to publish updated guidelines with references to puberty suppression removed. We declined to write this update, because that’s not clinical guidance - not when the best practice option is being made illegal. We won’t compromise on the wellbeing of our communities.

We made the OIA request in April, knowing if they were released in an OIA they could be published. Simeon Brown refused, but no longer has a reason to withhold them - and I have a strong suspicion he got a telling off from the ombudsman. We jumped on the opportunity.
