By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).

Years ago I hear an interview with, I think, Paul Podesta, and he said nobody in the party wants to be like this. He said occasionally he’d get like a list of talking points from the DNC or whoever and his response was always “I ain’t sayin all that”
Meanwhile, the leading lights on the left absolutely refuse to be intellectually-dependent enough on party politics to actually actively stump for the Democrats, for a whole host of reasons I have complained about on here at length.
