The cruelty is the point. This is why I will never again go to the US. Currently enjoying Japan and Korea and I love it. Police here are so helpful too. Asked for directions and one Cop walked with me to point out where I should go, then thanked me for asking.

I wish the history of Jewish/Black solidarity was more widely known and discussed. There are so many great stories like this where Jews refused to align themselves with racism, often because of their own experiences of antisemitism.
More seriously I think I'm especially frustrated by this because like when the neighbors circulated a petition asking the families on my block to pressure the people who sold my parents our house not to sell to a Black family, it was a Jewish family who refused to sign.

When I worked in WaPo Opinions in 2017-2018, senior editors specifically told junior editors not to factcheck Marc Thiessen and other MAGA columnists, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to publish anything by them at all, and “we need them for intellectual diversity.”
It’s very telling that opening your publication to MAGA “thought” requires a massive downgrade in quality control.
