This is why I've never weighed in on this, because the only advice I could give from personal experience is to be in the right place at the right time.

Re romance, just from my anecdotal view y’all have to account for the vagaries of life and stop imposing so much self-criticism/self-discpline, y’all strict as hell on yourselves when it comes to love.

Having Universal Basic Income would make it easier to walk away from terrible working conditions, abusive management, or, oh I don't know, refuse to follow illegal orders? TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:

I work as a casual roady and it leads to me being on hold with Centrelink for about 2 hours a month. I don't have set hours. Whatever I report for one week, they always assume will be the same for ever more. I tell them that my hours are random, and they literally cannot record this fact.

My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.
