My 9th grade biology teacher gave a disclaimer before starting the evolution chapter that she was forced to teach it by law but that of course she didn’t believe it. She led a class prayer while some of the kids cried in fear.

They big mad at me at my job for speaking up about something too much. I was bummed until I realized they praise the guy in my department for being “cool and detached” but also get frustrated with him because the doesn’t jump into conversations enough.

Basically: “be passionate. No not like that.”

- House Republicans block Democrats from passing a bill to pay the troops during the shutdown, ensuring they will miss paychecks next week
