I am determined not to get this flu! Air purifiers in almost every room in our little apartment. A mask anytime I go into my daughter’s room. Remembering I did get the flu vaccine. (I also take a medicine that knocks out part of my immune system, respiratory illnesses in particular. Boooooo)

just lost my temper w/16 after hours at urgent care to see if we could get her an antiviral (we can’t she’s too healthy and young) in a waiting room full of people talking about having tested positive for Covid some were not wearing masks so I got really really irritable and it came out sideways

16’s got the flu, and I feel strangely paralyzed. there’s much I need/want to do to prepare for Christmas, but taking care of her, keeping her door closed (cat in/cat out), masking and all that has blocked my to do list from my brain.

so happy our tree keeps drinking so much water! needing to refill (half is gone) 2x a day! this is the first year I've tried using hot water and I think it makes a difference! (or maybe we got lucky and the tree is super-fresh)

he was trying to tell me about Jesus (my father's a retired minister, I know about Jesus). I said we have illness here (16 is sick). He kept talking. He told me what Jesus wanted and I said with a smile, "I have to go. Jesus would want you to wear a mask" and closed the door. #MaskUp

1. Yglesias is motivated in huge part by his fetish for getting yelled at by progressives.
2. There's nothing he could do that would piss off progressives more than a full-on embrace of progressive orthodoxy.

I grew up in a time when internet connection was slow and often graphics would just be an empty square. Frequently, the alt text was all I had to understand what it was supposed to be.
That's my approach to alt text today. If it's enough for me to know what the image is, then I'll share it.
