Hi, I'm NevadaWolf. I live in northern Nevada. I like exploring, in person or by records. I've been all over this state and feel I've barely scratched the surface.

I'm random. I post whatever is on my mind and share pics I think others would like. Here's some that show my different interests.
Hiked up to one of the remaining beacons from the Transcontinental Airmail Service. The orange and white skeleton framed Beacon 216 is the only remote one I've seen with the housing to the light on the top. The base of this beacon still has some of the piping for the gas supply that powered the light at the top. Rode my white Honda motorcycle out to the rock wall ruins of Hawes Station, an Overland Stage / Pony Express / Emigrant Trail stop, The ruins sit on the slope of a sage and rock covered hill and are adjacent to a small flat lake bed that is off camera. Drove my black Toyota 4Runner up to one of the remaining concrete arrows from the Transcontinental Airmail Service. These giant arrows (this one currently painted orange) would point pilots in the 1920-1930s to the next arrow, creating a visual route across the county. This arrow also has two large concrete pads connected to it, one to house the beacon for navigation at night, and the other to hold the building with the generator for the beacon's light. Spent the night camping at Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park and took advantage of the pure dark night sky to take a photo of the Milky Way above my dimly lit green, white, and orange tent. Dark trees surrounding my camp site mark the edge of the photo as the brilliant stars above shine brightly in the image.
Hurm, and it's KUNR which is out in Elko so that one at least should have been asked about.
I saw a signature line today that said "AI generated content may be incorrect."

Then WHY ARE YOU USING IT?!?
I dislike the big colorful blobs next to emails in ProtonMail's app update and there's no way to disable it yet.

Wait... my phone has a greyscale setting that can be switched on based on opening an app.

😈
I have started to once I learned this med will cause a slow heart beat and other potential heart issues.

My b/p this afternoon was fine even though my pulse was still in the 60s.
On average, my pulse in the morning is 95 bpm (which I find interesting when it matches my SpO2).

Today, two hours after taking my new meds, it was between 52-61.

Crap, I was so tired and cold. 🥱
*opens new medication bottle and looks inside*

Oh goody, I'm taking little blue pills now.

😁

Thank you. Love it when birds land in interesting places.
Interesting!

Amodei's DC voicemail is full.

Reno works though.
I knew this Northern Harrier would fly away quickly so I snapped a picture as soon as I could. Not the greatest picture, but a fantastic shot. 😁 🪶
Standing on the top of a dried mud mound, a Northern Harrier has turned their owl like head around to face the weirdo in the truck pointing a camera at them. The markings on their face and the shadows make their eyes appear like large black ovals as they look back over their dark brown body. Surrounding the mud mountain is dull tan marsh vegetation and bare trees with patches of green as the season turns to autumn.
A commanding position. 🪶
On the top of a lone telephone pole stands a Great Blue Heron. There is nothing around the pole except a flat field of sage brush, giving the Heron an unobstructed view of the area. In the distance, clouds and rain obscure the tall ridge of the Stillwater Mountains.
Greater Yellowlegs providing an artistic reflection. 🪶
Upside-down dark reflection of a long legged bird with a long straight bill standing beside some small bare scrub. The mostly still water is grey from the cloudy sky.

Happy Birthday to the Navy! They’re turning 250 a little before our country. Tomorrow you can stop by the museum to learn about the Navy’s presence in Fallon and to vote for your favorite of the memorabilia donated to us by TOPGUN school earlier this year.

Oh! Is this beautiful butterfly a monarch?!? 🦋
A bright orange butterfly with black patterns across the wings lined with white spots. It has settled onto a fuzzy light green desert plant. The book I make everyone read when I discuss moderation, Trust Safety and moral injury for America

Is the Laramie Project
On this date, Matthew Shephard died 27 years ago. He was beaten, tortured, and left for dead on fence for being gay. Please keep him and his wonderful mother Judy in your thoughts. And let's all work for a world where such horrific things do not happen to anyone. ❤️🏳️‍🌈
Huh!

Arby's has "Steak nuggets", little cups full of steak bites. Yum
