This is basically what happened to lolisho content at the start, in the sense that PayPal, MasterCard, et al innovated this death-by-debanking policy by first figuring out how to do it via lolisho. Which a lot of us (self included) did not want to defend. But I think that was a strategic error

The anonymous game developer who is out £80,000 says it well, referring to PayPal's ability to withhold their funds:
"We don't make anything illegal, but when almost every bank is collectively saying 'we don't do business with you if you make content X or Y,' then the content almost becomes functionally illegal."

as funny as it would be to interpret this as "this doesn't apply on a phone or any device at all" I really think the way it applies is that the physical use of the device itself can't be restricted.
however, I think this line is telling
(i) “User” means a child that is the primary user of the device

the bill's not even 1500 words long you can easily read it here. basically says that OS's have to record and store the user's age and programs can freely ask if the user is a child, young teen, older teen, or legal adult "to comply with applicable law"

i said this a few weeks ago, but a reminder that windows 10 being "end of life" does not mean your operating system will immediately stop working. even if the OS itself doesn't get updates, the apps you use most often (the browser.) still are. more important to have adblock + firewall these days

There is no such thing as "drawn CSAM," and that is not a moral or ethical statement on the content in question, but a factual statement on the necessity of understanding CSAM as the recorded abuse of a child.
