I’ve been trying a bunch of new job boards lately, but when this is my top match on one, it might not be the best fit…

my latest investigation for @consumerreports.org is based on months of reporting and 60+ lab tests of leading protein supplements

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)

We don't talk enough about how Mr. Van Pelt cruelly pranked his own son into believing in the Great Pumpkin and just let him go out and humiliate himself like that every year.

There is a local hospital system here that does a gun safety PSA with the tag line “kids are safe when a gun is locked in one” and I just want to say that it’s important to hire good copywriters

I wrote an 8-10 page paper on the similarities between modern panda diplomacy and gift-giving in early Mesopotamian society from 2am to 5am with a concussion because student care didn't open until 6am. Rigorously cited. Got a B+.

this is an impressive feat of wrongness

-I have no idea how they did the inflation calculation but it's roughly 5-6x too high
-Bob Cratchit is explicitly depicted a skilled office laborer, not destitute
-inflation calculations over two centuries obscure huge shifts in prices of necessary goods

An actual hot take: Too many authors are afraid of editors watering down their voice or whatever and not afraid enough of editors letting you put any old slop on the page.

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

Belichick was never going to work at UNC — or in any college program — but the depth of failure here is genuinely remarkable. This thread is excellent, but the eventual oral history is going to be spectacular.

I am almost positive that's the case. I think in the past I've usually used this day to bemoan the lack of youth development for the club rather than celebrating one of the success stories.
