We’re seeing a lot of what I can only describe as disaster tourism - folks, both local and from out of town, driving around to take pictures or just get a look at the damage. This is seriously clogging up the roads and making it harder for crews to do their jobs.

We’ve also had some issues with unauthorized drones in the area, which can delay response efforts and create safety risks.

If you can, please help spread the word:

If people don’t have a reason to be out here or on the roads, we really need them to stay clear.

Per this lawyer, the mother of 3 US citizens, among others, has been abducted by “bounty hunters” at gunpoint, brought to CBP, where they demanded she sign deportation papers without seeing a judge.

When she refused, she was literally disappeared by the armed “bounty hunters” at the behest of CBP.

Team @immdef has spent all morning desperately searching for Juli, a mom of 3 US citizens who has lived in LA for 21 years. 3 nights ago Juli was on her way to work when she was forcibly taken at gunpoint by men who in a short call to family she described as “bounty hunters.” 🧵

Juli called family from blocked # last night & said she was initially taken with others from LA by bounty hunters to CBP near San Ysidro where officers demanded they sign papers to be deported. CBP said she was brought there because she had agreed to a voluntary deportation.

When she & others in group asked for lawyers & to see a judge, CBP returned all who refused to sign to bounty hunters’ van. They were then taken by the unknown armed men to a warehouse in a remote, unknown location. She is still there. We can’t find her in online detainee locator

Juli described to family that men & women are being held together in the remote warehouse. There are no beds, no blankets and no showers. There is no food and the only water source is the sink. Juli has not seen any uniformed ICE or CBP officers since arriving at the warehouse.

I don't think we talk enough about how dignity is also a human right.

Food, water, shelter, education, health care, representation...all of those are human rights that everyone should receive regardless of who they are. But it's also a right to not have to beg for them.

We are At War now, according to President Bush, and I take him at his word. He also says this War might last for "a very long time."
Generals and military scholars will tell you that eight or 10 years is actually not such a long time in the span of human history - which is no doubt true - but history also tells us that 10 years of martial law and a wartime economy are going to feel like a Lifetime to people who are in their twenties today. The poor bastards of what will forever be known as Generation Z are doomed to be the first generation of Americans who will grow up with a lower standard of living than their parents enjoyed.
That is extremely heavy news, and it will take a while for it to sink in. The 22 babies born in New York City while the World Trade Center burned will never know what they missed. The last half of the 20th century will seem like a wild party for rich kids, compared to what's coming now. The party's over, folks.
