RIP North & South, but anyway. Just thinking about this article from 2021 describing how price gouging has been normalised in NZ. And this was BEFORE a whole lot of the inflation shocks and upheaval. NZers aren’t angry enough at the people responsible for it all.

It's real important, clearly, that we are policed at the mega strike in Ōtepoti. Imagine deciding that teachers, nurses, doctors, firefighters, education and health support staff require police supervision just cos it's a strike.

Parenting an autistic kid is wild. I just walked in to the lounge to hear Google rattling off a list of serious ailments all causing death. Asked what was going on. "I was just seeing what would happen if you were stung by a box jellyfish."

I think what's bothering me about all these statements I'm seeing from politicians that are variations of "Israeli hostages and Palestinians are returning to their homes, yay" is that Israelis are returning to their homes and Palestinians are returning to uninhabitable post apocalyptic rubble.

It's just so much eh. Turnout has been low and I do care about council (I'm a former candidate, I ran twice!) so I want to make it happen. My friend is ferrying me there on her lunch break so I can. I hate having to think about shelving stuff that I want to do cos of my health

Right now though, this looks like a bus to the pharmacy, then another 10 min bus to town, then walking several blocks in a crash, then thinking clearly and without fog to navigate an overwhelming STV form accurately, then getting home safe. And that's tiny when you're abled. I'm not.

Meds for my kid and I are far more important but if I don't make it out to vote I'll be ridiculed by friends for not participating, so it's a rough balance.

Y'all who keep lecturing protesters to "not give them an excuse" need to pause for a minute. Imagine yourself telling a DV victim, "Be sure not to mouth off or make any mistakes so he won't hit you. Don't give him an excuse! It's what he wants!" That's what you fools sound like.
