I have a theory about this. Regular people want tech to reduce our real-life burdens: cooking, errands, dishes, and definitely laundry. Rich tech bros already have "staff" to take care of all that for them, so they don't care. 1/

There are many lies Apartheid Failson is putting forth but the easiest thing to consider is if there was "no operating or maintenance cost " computing even possible on satellites, banks, Amazon, Microsoft, and Google would all have their own data satellites for data storage already.
