I haven’t been creatively motivated / driven in some time, but one of my favorite things to do is take a selfie at every AMC movie I go to. I titled the series after a line in the Nicole Kidman pledge of allegiance, “because here, they are”. It’s my very own On Kawara-like practice.
I learned what “the grink” is and have delightedly been referring my little terrier as “Mr. Grink” all day. Will the grink be there??

What a relief it is to not have a Spotify Wrapped for the first time ever because I don’t use Spotify. My guess is, I listened to a lot of MJ Lenderman, blink-182, and Cameron Winter.

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

Oura rings give me such an ick. I stopped wearing my FitBit a year ago and think I’m done with all wearable tech. I like the idea of it, but hate that these ghouls are selling our data and tracking our every move.
