"In simpler terms: Once you swipe your ticket, the Mariners can use your image however they want."

Attending a game gives "MLB organizations, as well as some sponsors and other partners, unrestricted rights to the ticket holder’s image...in connection with the event."

Fuck off with this shit.
Why 10 cameras are photographing every single fan at Mariners games
Ten cameras are all eyes during a game as your reactions are recorded for posterity and information-gathering.

We're thinking of printing this out to put up in the kitchen next to the sink. Or maybe getting a needlepoint.

There’s a newsletter I pay for that has ballooned into So Much Content + a podcast and I’m begging people to consider that less is more.

Am I an outlier in that I consume exactly 0 podcast episodes per week and actually only read maybe two newsletters?

I really recommend browsing a reddit called "Is this AI?" for this purpose. people post questionable images and commenters weigh in on their validity, but are required to provide specifics as to their reasoning. once you start seeing the signs, it gets easier and easier over time

In the early aughts I was on a flight from Rome to Paris where Wild Horses played on a loop in the cabin the entire time and the only beverage was a warm orange juice sort of thing.

Another Thursday, another day when everything is so fucking stupid.

I wonder what phrase will be used to refer to These Times decades from now.

Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.

"Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it's highly likely because they're given Tylenol. None of this is positive..."

When Joni sang “part of you pours out of me in these lines from time to time” she had me forever.

That said, nothing haunts me the way the lyrics to Pink Rabbits do.

I also need to know: I am fairly middle-of-the-road on Taylor Swift but someone I know called her the Greatest Living Lyricist. She is not.

Who is yours? Either the greatest or your favorite?

This is one I just have to blurt out and not think about because if I visualize the spelling in my head for even an instant, I mangle it.

It's interesting seeing the different ways resistance has formed in different cities. Los Angeles Organized, Chicago Radicalized, and Portland Got Weird as Fuck. All 3 have had success unifying their respective cities.

I guess my point is there are multiple paths to ungovernability.

Ended the day catching up with pals, commiserating about just how fucked up so much is going to be for a very long time and dishing about this and that and hugging people I don’t see often enough.

I started out at @studio-e-gallery.bsky.social to catch @gillian-theobald.bsky.social’s show, Fold & Folding. I got to chat with Gillian and maybe didn’t fangirl too much. Something kind of wonderful happened in my brain from really absorbing what was going on in the art.

Didn’t take pics of Julie Alpert’s first show (Leaf Poses) at @jrinehartgallery.bsky.social because I was too excited about the color blocks and the artist’s hand-drawn motifs on the gallery walls behind the show pieces.

I also got to finally see The Butterfly Effect just before the closing reception. I have a piece in the show but the real star was the arrangement of butterflies decorated by various groups and installed in a flight pattern.
A white wall with text. Title: “Have you heard that the flap of a butterfly’s wings can cause a tornado across the world?” There is a smattering of colorful butterflies attached to the wall. View of a gallery installation of butterflies arranged red to orange to yellow to green, each with different patterns drawn with paint. A gallery installation of green, blue, and purple butterflies in a white wall, each with a different pattern.
