If Mitch McConnell wasn’t such a flaming coward, would the country be in this mess?

He could still do something.

That kernel of anxiety in the back of your mind is telling you the truth. It's not the school or the professor; it's your kid not meeting the standard.

Your kid got into a great college because of excellent high school grades, and you're aghast that they're now getting low grades on written work. There could be a number of valid reasons, but more often than not, they just don't know how to write.

All those years spent in private schools or wealthy public schools, thousands spent on tutors, easy access to books, cultural experiences afforded through travel, extracurricular flexibility -- after all that, there are millions of students from this particular background who simply don't know.

I'm not talking about ideology or politics. I mean the basic mechanics of writing, let alone producing a college paper to standard.

That college essay making the rounds is bad, but in terms of writing skill, it's pretty par for the course.

The sad truth is that there are a few million upper middle class white parents in this country who genuinely fail to grasp that their kids don't know how to write.

I’m old. I’ve always been overtly patriotic & what Trump & the Republicans are doing is frying my circuits. I don’t give a shit, I am calling them out. My family goes back to the early 1700s in this country & have been in every war. My grandfather fought in France in WW1.

More family & friends have fought in every war since. One of my young memories is of my uncle explaining his artificial leg to me & how he lost his leg in Korea. I will be damned if I will be intimidated by Nazis, KKK and the rest of these snots.
We didn’t support our country just to see it betrayed

In the last week, Donald Trump has called for the murder of Congressional Democrats and threatened to unilaterally declare an invasion of Venezuela.

If Congressional Republicans followed the Constitution, both of these would be removable offenses. But, they’re loyal to Trump, not the constitution.

Even a decade ago I'd have far sooner predicted that the US would succumb to authoritarian rule than that it would become a state where vaccines were unavailable.

But if we don't throw RFK Jr. out on his ass, we're headed there fast.
RFK Jr. is overhauling the program that helps preserve Americans' access to vaccines
A Kennedy adviser said he wants to preserve the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. The health secretary's anti-vaccine allies prefer it collapse.

Love this!! We should demand that private schools that take voucher money follow the same rules as all public schools. As taxpayers, we all should know where the public funding is going.
