Likewise for the bandits who try and come at the LDB while he's wearing endgame gear.

Makes sense. You left before the mods started really going off the rails, then. I kinda blame TNO for starting the current trend of focus tree/GUI bloat and a wide variety of killpeopleist ideologies.
roninmacbeth.bsky.social
Do you think HoI4 mods jumped the shark? If so, when?
roninmacbeth.bsky.social
I'm not going to give her credit, though I am curious what's driving this.

That assumes the Romney country club conservatives become a major political force again.

One of my friends in high school was Lebanese-American and she was just as blonde and blue-eyed as I am. This whole attempt to play national phenotype with Middle Easterners is stupid.

Most diagnoses of “academia” (and many subfields) are actually just English PhDs yelling at each other about stuff in English departments

"Well with God as my witness, I AM that fool!"

How am I just not finding out about a TW: Attila mod that's about a catastrophic eternal winter featuring a "demonic invasion" by the forces of the "Undergod?" Ah fuck I know what I'm doing today.

It's interesting that this part of British society is something the Harry Potter series pokes fun at (the Dursleys are notoriously nosy and gossipy) and then the author of that series decided to make "Not Minding Her Own Business" her whole thing for the rest of her life.

Yeah, all the characters in Herzog's movie are named after Stoker's characters.

Oh you have no idea how often I think of telling a certain set of people to contemplate their failings on the tree of woe nowadays.

This does seem to be a belief of a lot of reactionaries for centuries. Remember, a lot of modern conspiracy theories descend from the idea that the French Revolution was a Masonic/Illuminati/Jewish plot. Tsar Nicholas II believed every "real Russian" supported him unconditionally.

Per @charltoncussans.bsky.social , "a command economy where the only command is 'no.'"

I haven't seen that, it's just the typical "We're so back"/"It's so over" cycle that is always on social media. And like Ross says, a lot of people feel in control if their cynicism is borne out. I have a friend who thinks midterms aren't going to happen and uses the word "hopeslop."

I mean it sounds authoritative, commanding. But yeah, I can see that. Guess we're going to see how Grand Regent Day works out.

TBH I was kinda hoping for Bryan Cranston as Thragg.
roninmacbeth.bsky.social
Apparently so. He's getting typecast.
roninmacbeth.bsky.social
Huh. So Lee Pace is going to be Thragg. I guess I can see it.

Is this about the atomic bomb debate person?
