Every day, I get letters demanding that the federal govt or the GG or the LG “do something” to change or save Alberta. But the only people who can “fix” Alberta are Albertans. There is no magic constitutional genie. The responsibility is on all of us.
The UCP has made 2025 one of the darkest years for Alberta’s democracy.

How is the government going to have MORE oversight over private corporations than public ones? She doesn't have the thinking skills to make anything make sense and she just stands there like teflon when called to account. The real problem is how they've walled themselves off from accountability

Saw an ad in my local paper the other day where Rogers was promoting its satellite-to-mobile system. It seemed to purposely avoid mentioning that it is using Musk’s Starlink.

I don't want someone to run gov't as a business, I want someone to run it as a *government*. It is the entire point of gov't to govern fairly and responsibly, and provide services for the collective that elects them. You want to run things like a business, Dani, then go work for a fucking business.

Today, the ATA has filed an Alberta Labour Relations Board complaint of unfair bargaining practices as well as 61 grievances—one in every bargaining unit across the province.

Bad faith bargaining complaint and grievances filed
Today, the Alberta Teachers' Association (ATA) is filing an Alberta Labour Relations Board complaint of unfair bargaining practices, including bad faith bargaining, against the Teachers' Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA). In addition, 61 grievances have been filed-one in every bargaining unit across the province-regarding TEBA's and employers' interpretation of the Recruitment of Teachers Letter of Understanding.

There is no accountability by the provinces. Audits show that they underspend on the intended purposes and divert huge amounts to costly private services, but there seem to be no consequences. People keep re-electing conservatives provincially.
