Took my sister and brother in law to his (10 minute) appointment at VON this afternoon. Spent an hour and a half waiting & pacing the Bayers Road parking lot. Instead of being frustrated I just reminded myself that I was free and able to pace the lot unlike those like my brother in law who cannot.

As much as I love cooking I also love just taking stuff out of the freezer and popping it into the air fryer. Tonight’s meal is fried chicken on a bun with fries.

Primaris REIT, which owns Halifax Shopping Centre, has submitted new development plans that encompass Halifax Transit's overcrowded Mumford terminal.

The plans call for an expanded, at-grade bus terminal rather than the underground design proposed by the mall's previous owner. (1/5)

Currently a half dozen goldfinches, a couple of chickadees, a downy woodpecker, and an upside down nuthatch at my feeders. Plus a robin enjoying the fountain. By the sound of it the crows are a few streets over bothering someone else.
And poof, they’re all gone.

It really irks me that people using sidewalks are the lowest priority re construction zones in HRM. This sidewalk was not under construction, somebody's yard was. I was able to go around these signs but what if I were in a wheelchair or pushing a walker? Move your signs off the sidewalk! #halisky

#Melissa's landfall intensity of 185 mph/892 mb ties it with the Florida Key's Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 as the record minimum pressure of any TC making landfall *anywhere* the NATL basin. I feel for the residents of #Jamaica 😞

Yeah, no magpies here on the Atlantic coast. Crows and bluejays have that window behavioural niche pretty much filled. No room for others. Mind you the smaller ones like chickadees certainly let me know when their feeders are empty.

241 MPH WIND GUST! One of the strongest wind gusts EVER measured in a hurricane was just recorded by hurricane hunters that continue to fly through Melissa tonight. This insane wind gust was measured about 700 feet above the ocean's surface. This thing is absolutely terrifying.
