Catherine Connolly said that if elected, she will establish a major Presidential Initiative on Disabled Citizens and Care.

“For too long, disabled citizens and those who care for them have had to fight for what should never have been denied - equality, respect, and the right to live with dignity.”

I can't get over this as an answer. Like, did she hear the question, or just not want to hear it?

Brits speaking Irish, sounds like a spy to me?
The new British Ambassador to Ireland has shown off impressive Irish language skills as she officially started in her new role.
Kara Owen was among a number of new ambassadors to present their Letters of Credence to President Michael D Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

So there I am, thinking I'd like to read some more speculative fiction written by women, and I go to the literature tourist map and put in William Gibson. Out of about 50 names, one woman: Ursula LeGuin. A good one, admittedly, but... 1? What would be your #booksky suggestions?
I want to be a dangerously woke oldie!

This has just struck me as incredibly funny.

There's going to be an AI history of Ireland in 50 years recording that President Michael D Higgins rode to events on a Bernese Mountain Dog, and that President Catherine Connolly never refilled the office jar of teabags. #SmearTheBejaysis #Speirghorm
Here, I just realised what future AI is going to serve up to students about Catherine Connolly, former president of Ireland and laughed out loud. #SmearTheBejasus

I honestly feel many people are sick of performatively confrontational presidential candidate debates.

The constant interruptions, prickly haranguing, random hypotheticals, repetitive dredging of controversy instead of hearing about values, character, vision.

We deserve smarter discourse.

Do any of the #Belfast and #NorthernIreland folk have any hotel recommendations for Belfast?

A London friend is coming to Belsonic 2026 and I’ve no idea.

And yes, I’ve warned them about Belfast’s chatty audiences.
The Europa is a good option, very central. Any of the hotels in the Cathedral Quarter are good and are also very handy. In fairness they are all pretty similar. The Merchant is expensive but gets a great name. Enjoy!

Can we put this on billboards all over the country please? Repeat it and repeat it. Text it to the radio shows. Send it to the letters pages.

Her conduct throughout hat process was despicable, cold and completely lacking in any understanding or humility, let alone a human rights informed approach.
People don't realise how malicious the 'reforms' proposed by Heather Humphreys to disability supports were. Very few people appreciate the work put in by disabled activists to resist those reforms or the lasting damage caused. No apology or even acknowledgement, HH is not a President for all #Áras25
I was one of the leaders of Scrap The Green Paper because I & my friends were suicidal after learning proposals for ~84% of disabled to be pushed into work

I've not recovered from pushing myself to fight it, nor my friends

I'm so broken & Humphreys wants a house in the park on our backs
