My eye twitches every time I think about people saying they voted for Trump because of the price of eggs.

If ICE agents begins harassing voters on the way to vote on Tuesday, we need local prosecutors to charge the ICE officers with state law crimes. We need to send a message for 2026 that they will be swiftly arrested.
"Why don't people support welfare programs?"
Racism. More specifically, anti-Blackness.
White folks asked about who welfare serves overestimate the number of Black people on welfare. Not only that, but just the mere THOUGHT of who welfare supports led less white people to support it. #blacksky

Doubling down on forced car dependency is *not* the path to addressing climate change.
Any city or state that isn’t investing in ebike subsidies and separated bike infrastructure is missing out on more affordable climate, health and livability wins via bikes.

After 4 years and 2 failed attempts, California is giving up on the idea of ebike subsidies and dumping the money back into electric car subsidies.

One of my beliefs is every public establishment should have a ping pong table. You should be able to drop in anywhere for a quick Pong

“Under the plan, bounty hunters may receive “monetary bonuses” depending on how successfully they track down their targets — and how many immigrants they then report to ICE.”
Or ICE could just fund the Klan directly.

ICE Plans Cash Rewards for Private Bounty Hunters to Locate and Track Immigrants
Companies hired by ICE would be given bundles of information on 10,000 immigrants at a time to locate — and paid cash bonuses for performance.

Women’s autonomy over their land, labor and lives has long been treated as a threat.
As we approach another Election Week, women again stand at the threshold between what is and what could be.

Evidently there was an Auschwitz-themed float in a Halloween parade in Pennsylvania.
The float was for a Catholic school, and to their credit the church immediately disavowed it.
Thing is, I don’t think high school kids did this entirely on their own. I’m guessing parents had to be involved.

People keep saying there’s gonna be a “reckoning” for this or that thing Trump does.
Really?
Was there a reckoning for Bush43 attacking a country that had nothing to do with 9/11, his inequality-exploding tax cuts, his Katrina failures, or his firing of US attorneys?
I submit there was not.

The educated liberal big city US folks outraged at Trump's renovation of Lincoln bathroom really need to scroll some Facebook of their less established relatives and friends to see what kind of aesthetic resonates with Trump's target audience.
I was helping someone w/ a test ride of a cargo bike today & a passerby stopped to tell us:
1) He has an ebike that goes 60mph (not an ebike).
2) Cargo bikes are single use (?)
3) It’s bad to have kids in cargo bikes bc they should be pedaling their own bikes (the family had a 6 month old baby).
🙄

Our health care system is so broken it’s insane.
Stop letting them make you believe a better one is impossible.

You might keep an eye out for the film “American Troubles” that’s starting to hit festivals. It presents Ireland’s history of ethnic violence as a blueprint for the path to proportional representation in the US — and outlines the failures of our Voting Rights Act to achieve the same goals.
