If you’re hearing news about a cancer break-through and wonder what’s hype and what’s not, here’s a good explainer of the actual findings in animal studies.

This is some elegant science that pulls together several lines of long-standing inquiry, and yes, it’s a BFD.

Ask not how many cars you can power with solar power instead of biofuels, but how e-buses, trains, and e-bikes can move people affordably in a clean grid.

Look, maybe not *all* ICE and CBP agents are bloodthirsty psychopaths, but there are plenty of stories like this one and the rest of them sure as shit don't seem to mind, so ...

CBP agents knocked on an El Paso home at 7:15 a.m.

The owner asked to secure his Rottweiler, Chop, in the bathroom.

While he got his ID, agents opened the door and shot Chop.

The family tried to save him as he bled out on the kitchen floor.

Agreed, I drop off my youngest at school by e-bike and although it takes longer to get there (slightly) the time saved from not having to find parking on arrival far outweighs any cost

Endorse

I don't think most have yet adequately valued the "almost" in "almost the same utility"

E-bikes (and e-cargobikes) have the potential to significantly disrupt everyday transit
aarnegranlund.bsky.social
It might be speculative, but e-bikes are beginning to compete with cars (also BEVs) if the infrastructure exists.

Why would I pay for ten times the dealership price, repair and maintenance, and a hundred times the fuel costs when the e-bike has almost the same utility?

STEPHANOPOULOS: I didn't insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50k as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024. You did not answer the question. Thank you for your time.

VANCE: No, George, I sai--

STEPHANOPOULOS: We'll be right back
