Also quite funny is his account of attending a conference in France with beautiful music and liturgy and food and the German Dominicans attending unable to enjoy anything because obviously German culture / food is better

Reading Dietrich Von Hildebrand’s memoir about his resistance to Nazism. He relates his horror at the VP of the Catholic Academic Association rejoicing that he had a polite note from the Nazi government commending a conference, because the prior government “would never have bothered to do the same”

I have a Dutch oven and a smaller pot, both wedding gifts. Looked at what they would cost new a while back and it was insane.

From what I have read recently on cooking sites it sounds like the enameled Lodge is the best bang for your buck these days
