OK so let me break down the pending cargo ship disaster for you. Maybe you think, I'm fine! 32% of the world's plastic comes from China. Thats NEARLY ALL of your goods containers. Everything you use in a plastic container is about to be gone from the shelves. Good luck.

Serious question: did we pass the point of no return vis-à-vis plastic pollution? Like, should I stop my anti-glitter campaign and just eat a bottle because nothing matters + I’d literally shit sparkles?

I still believe genderless public bathrooms with fully private doors, genderless communal sinks and mirrors, parenting stations, and free menstrual care products should be the universal standard. It’s just a bathroom. It should be centered around bathroom needs, parenting needs, and hygiene needs

For example, it’s hard to understand why Gen Xers are so Maga-friendly, until you consider that they grew up under Reagan, who was very, very popular.

This moment when the penny drops that trying to implement bathroom bans is an impossibility for the former Tory Chief Secretary Simon Clarke is delicious.

Mexico's Senate will vote Monday on a fast tracked initiative to reform the country's telecommunication law on the request of President Claudia Sheinbaum. The reform, which will ban foreign propaganda, comes after the Trump admin ran an anti-migrant on Mexican TV.

My story for the El Paso Times:
Mexico moves to outlaw foreign propaganda after US runs anti-migrant ad across border
A reform was presented to the Mexican Senate to bar foreign governments from spreading propaganda after the U.S. DHS airs anti-migrant ad campaign

This has always been an obvious problem with their slapdash approach. You can temporarily “save money” on paper by deciding to randomly stop paying bills. But if it turns out you needed some of that stuff, it’s ultimately going to be more expensive.
NYT: One estimate finds that DOGE’s “firings, re-hirings, lost productivity and paid leave of thousands of workers” will actually COST taxpayers “upward of $135 billion this fiscal year.”

This is literally the opening scene of The Last of Us
Fungi can protect the environment, grow food and even develop new medicines. 🍄

But they can also cause disease.

As climate change spreads pathogenic fungi to new places, more people worldwide will be at risk.

Kinda insane and shows how afraid the networks are of upsetting this administration that a guy who killed 7 people and wounded 48 with “47” literally tattooed on his face has all but been forgotten like there’s still not a very serious threat emanating from every pore of this pathetic cult

Well the NIH has cancelled the Women's Health Initiative, the largest study of women in history

It has been running continuously since 1991 and has provided massive key knowledge about diseases in women

If the goal was to warfight the earth, mankind is succeeding
Currently, we are in the “worst global bleaching event on record that has now hit more than 80% of the planet’s reefs”. Reefs in at least 82 countries and territories “have been exposed to enough heat to turn corals white since the global event started in January 2023”.
A reminder that the Australian government continues to conceal the unprecedented mass mortality of corals on the Great Barrier Reef in 2024 (until after the election).

Where is the first family? Isn’t it weird they’ve completely distanced themselves and no one is reporting on it?

After years of pearl clutching during the Obama and Biden administrations, did the media suddenly decide to acquiesce to calls for privacy?

I could see select access to “safe” food and medicine also being used to encourage state-preferred behaviors (e.g. marriage, childbirth, snitching, enhanced voluntary surveillance, joining the military, working in certain sectors, clapping on the 1 and 3 etc.)
