While I get the sentiment, bookstores are still too much of a commitment. I don't want to buy something I have no idea if I'll like.

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

It would be one thing if you work as an animator and someone comes up to you with a pristine bit of Disney magic provided by a prompt and says you don’t have a job, that would be terrible but you could see the cruel mercenary nature of it, but it’s like your boss comes up to you and shows you this

Lrt I think them being forced to innovate is a good thing. Sentai does feel a lot more same-y compared to Rider since it follows the same formula that Kamen Rider generally isn't as beholden to.

I have a lot but I've been watching the Cherry Magic dub and it's absolutely fantastic
Amazon has rolled out AI dubbed anime and I’m truly appalled. Like it or loathe it, the medium has a rich, incredible history of English performances. There’s already a million reasons to hate Amazon, but fuck me.
