Unhinged to describe the criticism of her journalistic ethics as a "freaksome lynching" when she has not denied any of the allegations and admits to most of them in her book.
Possibly the only thing more freakish than Nuzzi's prose is the contortions her defenders twist themselves into. "She's not just hot, but she definitely is hot, while also being a vulnerable smol child. Also, criticizing her is sexist."

This is Donald Trump's reign of terror.

Josh Marshall is absolutely right about this as a matter of constitutional restoration BUT ALSO

You can't do ANY of the "kitchen table" agenda EITHER without abolishing the power of the six corrupt GOP justices. They'll kill any good Dem policy (eg student loan forgiveness) just to watch it die.

An HSA is NOT a health insurance plan. And individuals cannot work deals with insurance companies for lower premiums. That takes numbers. Once again the idiocy here just proves you and the GOP should NOT be in office. #Idiocracy

If this happens - that he sends us a check - and then insurance companies are free to charge non-negotiated group plans to Americans one at a time, the cost will go way up. Even magats will have to realize this once they see it on paper in the mail.

So he wants to give folks a tiny % of the money that would cover ACA subsidies to pay for their insurance? Are the insurance companies going to cut their premiums so folks can cover it with this pittance? He's betting folks will be happy getting a little money instead of insurance.

Who gets this money? And is it contingent on paying for insurance? Do you have to apply for it or are w just getting checks? Are the laws about preexisting conditions still in place?

If we listen to republicans, and read between the lines, they’ve told us what their plan is: let millions go uninsured. That’s it. That’s the plan.

It’s very funny to me that countries are trying to pass laws banning teens from social media until they’re older and can “handle it” as if the last decade hasn’t been about watching rich middle aged men nuke their brains on Twitter and then run the USA via shitpost.
Dude. Yes. Alito and Thomas are of course the standout examples, but all of the Republican justices have tells in their writing and their questioning indicating that they are, to varying degrees, marinating their brains in dumb bitch juice
My theory, fwiw, is that Supreme Court Justices are not immune to Twitter brain poisoning. I suspect all six have horrific information environments and have therefore lost the ability to understand the people who don't agree with them.

There are a lot of things to say about this, but I think a really key thing is that this highlights how important digital preservation of the internet is. Pause for a moment to imagine a world if we didn't have an @archive.org version of this webpage from previously?

it won't convince Republican judges

7 months ago, some of us argued that young people are highly responsive to the "nature of the times" (Campbell et al 1960) because they are relatively less politically engaged. Thus, their pro-Republican movement in 2024 was likely not a stable generational difference. It looks like we were right.

Habba was at Trump's Kennedy Center Honors last night. From JFK's "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country" to "You can take the girl out of New Jersey, but you cannot take New Jersey out of the girl” is quite the devolution in discourse.
ending your resignation letter with “you can take the girl out of New Jersey, but you cannot take New Jersey out of the girl” should be considered an actionable true threat.
