Hilarious. The WH had all the Cabinet members simultaneously put out statements supporting Susie Wiles after the Vanity Fair article came out.

Kinda wild how quickly the entire trump admin moved on from the whole Indiana thing and how much it probably should tell everyone that you can tell him to fuck off and their need to constantly own the news cycle will mean that they move on from you within days.

There hasn’t been enough appreciation for how thoroughly BENNIE THOMPSON humiliated FBI official GLASHEEN after he tried to sell the lie that ANTIFA is the top domestic terror threat.

The claim collapsed because it’s a cover.

After our last post, MAGA voices rushed to claim that Trump had nothing to do with the traffic stop involving Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar’s son, where federal agents demanded proof of his citizenship. Let’s be clear about why this is not a coincidence.

Seeing Erika Kirk utterly fail to capture Charlie Kirk's audience upon his death provokes such schadenfreude because only a fool imagines White Christofascist Nationalists, a plague famous for their support of reinstating regressive gender roles, would ever accept a woman as their new talking head.

That all sounds delicious. How would this land at your tables?

Trying to introduce my five-year-old and a couple of her cohorts to the art form. So want the real deal, yet kid-appetizing.

I can follow a recipe, but don't have any from the family.

Massacred, reduced to dhimmi status, kept in near-slavery for centuries, then robbed and expelled by the hundreds of thousands in the 20th century.

News flash, Sharon. Jews are First Nations people. They were also massacred by colonizers, one after the next, until the Arab Islamic conquests conquered the entire region and made them Dhimmis, second class citizens, in a real apartheid.
So you were told that Israel is a “settler colonial state”

And then Joe Biden says “we, here are the numbers, actually things are going well,” instead of saying “hm, maybe the media is just being sensationalist,” they just screamed “shut up, old man, someone somewhere is suffering”

And I think what I learned from that is people’s sense of what everyone else’s life is like is dictated by the media.

You’re personally doing fine. But the media tells you over and over that everyone else is working six jobs and eating sand to survive. So you naturally assume you’re an outlier.

In 2001, after 9/11, when the World Series was Yankees/Diamondbacks, the media INSISTED that the whole country wanted NY to win. They all but demanded Arizona throw the series out of patriotism.

Everyone I talked to was rooting for Arizona. But every one of them believed they were the only one.

The big unanswered question here isn’t “do examples of people doing well or people doing poorly describe everything?” It’s “why do surveys consistently seem to show people doing pretty much fine but believing everything is shitty?”
Okay, if we must defer to lived experience, which supersedes everything, my lived experience is that inflation since 2020 was moderate, my wages kept pace, my consumption and lifestyle has mostly improved, and my housing costs are tolerable - they’ve actually declined, in fact.

No, Jews around the world don't suffer because of the actions of the government of Israel. Jews around the world suffer because antisemites use the actions of the government of Israel to justify attacks on Jews. And if you make the same association, you're also an antisemite.

Again, even though the Japanese government leading up to 1945 committed terrible atrocities, none of us think that Japanese internment was caused by the Japanese government. It was caused by American racism.
