I love the modern internet. So accessible. So readable.
I would love to read this article, except literally two thirds of the screen was ads. How the fuck is anyone supposed to read an entire article like this?

Mayor Wilson announced police will begin citing homeless Portlanders for declining shelter, starting this weekend. The move comes as 15,000 homeless residents in the county are set to lose food assistance, and service providers say the criminal justice system only makes things worse.

“Who’s going to pay for people to have food & healthcare? You?”

Yes. That’s the point. We all pay & everyone benefits.

I would gladly contribute my fair share to ensure no one is left behind.

I want my tax dollars to feed & house people. I want them to have medical care

This shouldn’t be radical
Very quick turnaround from “give me your phone number” to “I don’t debate children”.
You’re flailing and lashing out because you can no longer deny the truth of my words. You’re being forced to confront your own racism and you can’t handle it.
PS, I’m Jewish too, so quit trying to throw that around as if it gives you any kind of high ground.
But you DIDN’T. I don’t know how many times I have to keep saying this. Nothing he has said has been antisemitic. Your belief in that is based on a LIE. You have repeatedly failed to point to anything specific because there is nothing. You think he’s antisemitic because he’s Muslim. That’s it.
“I’m not going to discuss this on a public forum where I’m accountable, and instead want you to give me access to your personal contact information” is both cowardly and predatory. Stop doing this.
I cannot overstate how much I am not interested in that.
You acknowledged making an error on a fact and then continued to assert that the vibes you got from that mistaken fact were still correct. You performed admitting wrongness without actually revising your beliefs that you had based on that mistake.

We wanted to understand what a Zohran Mamdani administration would mean for New York. So we talked to a Kentucky woman who once tied for 5th place in a swim race with a transgender woman and got really mad that she didn't get to hold the trophy.

I think a lot about the chance we had at the start of COVID to finally become a more compassionate, collectivist nation, and how profoundly we were failed not only by the sociopathic greed of the ruling class but by each other.

It doesn’t mean we won’t get there, but the lost opportunity haunts me.
Remember how just a few years ago during the worst of the pandemic when we saw how the govt can actually do big things and saw that our collective health & well-being are intertwined, and then corporations got mad that they lost a modicum of power and helped fund a backlash of amnesia and fascism?

This is a five-alarm fire. Utah is working on a 1,200-bed, remote detention camp for people who can't afford rent. This includes hundreds of locked beds, forced medication, & the potential for forced labor.
BREAKING: Inspired by Trump, Utah moves forward with plan to force homeless people into detention camps.

“It’s what they did in World War II in Japanese detention camps--similar to rounding up Jews or other people Nazis didn’t like.” @jesserbnwtz.bsky.social

State officials promise large-scale involuntary addiction and mental health treatment at Salt Lake City’s edge. Critics see “a prison, or a warehouse.”

You’ve been criticized plenty, but you have made zero effort to actually listen to the criticism. You’re just digging in your heels and insisting you’re right. THAT is what’s preventing this from being productive.

People will log onto bluesky and say anything. “My Nazi friend is very trustworthy” no he’s not. That’s not true.
Bruh…
One of my best friends ran with 1%’s for decades and has an SS symbol on the back of his neck. There are few people I trust more. Let’s move on.
