Immigrant in New York. Cis + she/her. 130 weeks in recovery. Unite Ireland. Free Palestine. Abolish ICE. Immigrants deserve rights, not platitudes. Republican, but not in the American way. If you have to ask, Google it.

This photo will be shown in history books as an example of deep and unabiding cruelty. You can't reform this.

Hi!

I hate to ask but I'm still stuck in a dangerous place when it comes to my ability to have food in the house while I'm waiting to hear back from my college financial aid department.

If you can help or share it would help out a lot, thank you so much

Why didn't you just repost the original instead of screen recording.

Happy birthday, sweet pea!! 🥰

I read books about World War II and what led to it when I was younger and I never in my life imagined I would live in a country, or a world, where it would be allowed happen again. But here we are.

"straight" and "het" in the same sentence. 🫩 I meant white cis het citizens.
shinery.bsky.social
Even if fascism "only counted" when the camps are open, camps are open. They have been open.

We are in fascism.

Fascism doesn't happen when straight white cis het people are affected. It happens because they act like it does.

I'm still reading this, because I can only take it for so long before I have to put it down and just take a breather.

Pointing to something on literally every page that's happening now has really been getting to me.

And there are still people who think we're just "on the way" to fascism.

I still have 30+ mutuals with this transphobic cis woman (not Delilah) and I'll have to start unfollowing people if you're going to ignore the blatant hatred she's been posting for the last couple of days

I think we can all safely assume that none of us have been exhumed by a man in 1950s Wisconsin.

But some of us have actually been through real shit with real consequences.
shinery.bsky.social
I want to explain why for people who may not have experienced it, but I'm also not going to for people who may have.

Just because I've been through it and can talk about it matter of factly doesn't mean other people can and, even with the trigger warnings, it was way past what I expected.
shinery.bsky.social
Possibly - hopefully - a niche trigger warning, but if you've ever been almost murdered by a man with a butcher knife then I would avoid the latest Ryan Murphy release.

I was able to get through the scene by using my coping mechanism of repeating it's not real, but it was unnecessarily realistic.

If I walked in somewhere and saw my face on a missing poster, I would assume something bad was about to happen. That would trigger the fuck out of my trauma.

The deportation order is based on Vedam’s conviction for murder—a crime he did not actually commit and for which he’s now been wholly exonerated. He entered the US at 9 months old and was a legal permanent resident before his conviction. We are so, so, so far from the light of justice.

After spending 43 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, evidence hidden by the prosecution reversed his conviction. Rather than finally enjoying freedom, ICE abducted him for deportation

Depraved.

You can also tell I'm still very sick, but he matters more.

Every afternoon, he gets a knob of creamy cheese with his fluoxetine in it, then a greenie and then cosequin for his joints - which has been a miracle.

And then throughout the day he gets everything he can lay his eyes on.

Look at this absolute unit. (There's also sound if you're into that kind of thing.)

He seems to only not wheeze when he's asleep, otherwise his breathing is essentially one big honk.

He's fine otherwise, he has his appetite and he likes to play and he likes going on walks.

But still. Still.

It's remarkable how believable that could be for someone who doesn't know what to look for (the fact that everyone and everything looks like it's made of Play-Doh, completely smooth with no texture, sight lines being wrong, etc). Especially from people who want to use it for clout.
