Hi, all. I'm Valerian, I mostly just talk about games and whatever random thing crosses my mind. I'm mainly into RPGs and strategy games, like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Baldur's Gate 1-3, Disco Elysium, Star Control II, Vicky, Stellaris, etc.

Spent 3 hours last night playing #KingdomComeDeliverance2 trying to sneak into the armory to steal some good armor at night.
Found a tunnel system, got caught by a guard, knocked him out, stole all his money and clothes, and left.
Didn’t do anything else. 10/10 experience.

I had an NES from as far back as I can remember but PCs are what really hooked me. I like tinkering with things and the complexity that PC games often enjoyed really appealed to me. Games like doom and star control 2 and betrayal at krondor hooked me. First pc was some sort of 386 ibm clone iirc

Installed Linux on laptop. Partial success, ran out of time to finish the process - need to fiddle with my greeter's (SDDM) config files cause NVIDIA Optimus laptop but then should be good to go!

Saw a post today that advised writers to stop writing as if a human will read it and start writing for an LLM that will be summarising.
As someone who really enjoyed trying to develop a peculiar but readable authorial voice, I find this incredibly depressing.

Morning, folks! I hope everyone has a great day today. I've been doing a lot better mentally, which feels nice. I'm trying to work on doing more things with friends (mostly online - it's harder for me to do stuff offline ATM) and be more social instead of isolating, heh!

I wish I was slightly more agile and physically adept because there's something I need to do on the roof of my house (set a dish up) but I am way too unsure of myself to do it on my own, so need to wait for my friend to be able to help me in a week or so.
