This appears to be coming around again, and is one of the reasons why I have no love for anything RGL and no interest whatsoever in their products.
I see a lot of people talking about the A1200 mini.

Here's a reminder that Paul Andrews of Retro Games ltd. (and various other companies, and a proper James Blunt) does not deserve your money:

Actually, no one has asked me that before! He definitely learned enough ASL to say his lines and have a short conversation. I’m not sure how much he learned, but they were able to communicate.

Keep in mind that he was British, and BSL is completely different!
@marawilson.bsky.social hey Mara, I’m sure you’ve answered this a million times, but did Richard Attenborough actually learn sign language for that scene in Miracle on 34th Street? It’s a really sweet moment in the film. :)

I know nothing about cars so when my car was playing up I asked my neighbour, who also knows nothing about cars and he said "it's completely broken, you should scrap it and get another one".

Did they really work hard for that £1.2m? Or did they get shockingly lucky benefiting from a stupid housing market? This is almost entirely unearned wealth, it's largely the result of dumb luck. And Jill is still walking anyway with £1m of it!

Did a Womble write this?
It's a real shame that no-one publishes a 3D map of our cities that shows the underground as well as the surface. Seeing the tunnels used by pedestrians, trains, roads, clean water, sewage, gas and electricity would be great. Hidden infrastructure that needs to be seen.

when I was young, i used to wonder how people like this would fare in life, as they didn't seem suited for gainful employment. it turns out, the internet allowed them to accumulate a massive audience of similar idiots, enriching them and turning them into a presidential advisor

Looks like Cloudflare is experiencing yet another global outage. So good that a large portion of the internet is reliant on just a few providers.

This is why it's so important that the stigma be removed, because then teachers can suggest it and parents don't freak out

Our kid's teachers suggested dyslexia (not a surprise, my partner has it); the dyslexia specialist screened for ADHD/autism and suggested we investigate for ADHD
It's a great cosmic joke that neurodivergence both runs in families and gets diagnosed based on parent reports. I was diagnosed at 30 because a man who has eaten potatoes every day for 57 years and a woman who collects loose buttons decided I was a perfectly normal child.

"What if one of YOUR favorite politicians/celebrities/etc is on the list?" Did you all not notice how quickly we dropped Neil Gaiman when we found out about the things he did? Do you know how beloved that guy used to be and how loathed he is now? I think that right there should answer your question.

And remember these are the emails Republicans deemed the *least harmful* to Trump to release.
🇺🇸 Jeffrey Epstein said to Larry Summers that he met very bad people, none as bad as Trump:

"Recall I've told you, I have met some very bad people, none as bad as Trump, not one decent cell in his body. So yes, dangerous"

Joyce is spot-on in this one. He has nothing but his money. That's it, that's all he has. Even when he does post about books and movies, he completely misses the point of the story. He did it with Princess Bride, Hitchhiker's, and Lord of the Rings.

Petition: Limit the sale of fireworks to those running local council approved events only
Ban the sale of fireworks to the general public to minimise the harm caused to vulnerable people and animals. Defenceless animals can die from the distress caused by fireworks. I believe that permitt...

What would we no longer have if fireworks were banned? Terrified pets, yet more pointless plastic released into the environment, antisocial moronic noise. Call me crazy but I reckon we can just about cope with that kind of loss, as a species.
