"Cops aren't workers" does not mean that they don't work, because even Bezos puts in hours. Nor does it mean that the work is totally without value. Even abolitionists would admit that there are cop tasks that should be done by others. "Cops aren't workers" means cops act as bosses for the masses.

My man... Your company can't build a good messaging app after a dozen tries. You're not sending anyone off planet

I am unironically a 3rd amendment absolutist. In my opinion this right is incorporated to all levels of government, all representatives of the state. Stories about local cops commandeering private property to stage makes me seeth.
third amendment activists, this is your moment.
“Currently, there is no plan for where everyone is sleeping tonight,” the source said, adding that there was an urgent need to find more portable bathrooms and dumpsters for garbage.

Great fight from Auburn, they're really a talented team. However, there is nothing cringier than chanting your conference name. Absolute cult shit

i hope academics understand very clearly that columbia didn't lose their funding because of protesters against genocide. if they honestly think that, then they're going to get gutted by fascists who played them like the fucking fools they apparently are.

Cool, Perplexicty is officially a hate group. Good to know
Perplexity begins ads on The Ben Shapiro Show, with Shapiro using the AI search engine to verify claims, as some tech companies embrace right-wing media (Trishla Ostwal/Adweek)

I think one big piece is that between the sky rocketing housing prices, lagging wages, and centralization of power in larger corporations with older decision makers, that younger generations feel that they have less power and control in guiding society.
One genuine criticism I have with my cohort is that it really does feel like many folks my age haven't quite grokked that we are The Adults In The Room.

However, we've been living under an environment which works real hard to convince us we're still babies and not the forty-year-olds some of us are

10/10 Progress happens and good new products come along, but at a much slower speed than everyone imagines. Especially, slower than predicted by those with a financial interest and who spend most of their time proselytizing. Really well engineered things take time.

Jesus christ this is so sad. Everything from the quality, to the writing, to the absolute dogshit premise. Meta needs to die, its run its course
This is Meta’s brand new ad for Horizon Worlds. Not sure how I’m supposed to feel about it.

Summary
- lost a fight
- shouted into the void
- saved fluoridation in one state
- sent a letter
- won a minor county election

This is embarrassing. The Democratic party is cooked and needs to figure their shit out fast if there is any hope at stopping the worst maga's plans
“sent a letter”

ICE is not going to "raid" a school. That is not a thing that is going to happen. They may arrest a parent who is picking a child up, or a staff member with prior conviction/deportation, but they will NOT BE "RAIDING" A SCHOOL

Kids already have more than enough to worry about in 2025 folks

The whole leaded gasoline tale is the stuff of supervillains. For four decades a small group of people knowingly poisoned the world for the sake of profit, despite knowing that safer alternatives to their product are available. In a just world Robert Kehoe has the same reputation as Josef Mengele.

Stone has being doing some of the coolest sim work for a while now so this thorough simulator comparison is really helpful. It also matches up: there's usually no free lunch in simulation so if you claim a speedup you need to drop something somewhere and it looks like what they dropped was physics
Yesterday the hyped Genesis simulator released. But it's up to 10x slower than existing GPU sims, not 10-80x faster or 430,000x faster than realtime since they benchmark mostly static environments
