Discord hasn’t been banned. That’s a perfectly fine platform for making new friends who don’t necessarily live in the same place as you but share an interest, or for keeping up with existing ones.

The last time Democrats had a filibuster-proof trifecta they enacted the largest expansion of public welfare in half a century through Obamacare. The last time Democrats had a trifecta they spent trillions of dollars on infrastructure to fight climate change and tax credits for families.
The thing is, the Dems don't want to use the power of the state when they win it. They wan to normalize and institutionalize the worst excesses of those who came before them. So even winning back state power in the way I've understood it my whole life is weak balm for this.

What we've seen in Minneapolis is what I would expect to see in any big RefUK deportations drive here: voters who liked the idea in theory will turn on it with some viciousness the moment things get publicly nasty and violent. Partly connected to their own guilt as they watch it unfold on TV.
