people mistake this for being a doomer, when it's really just "bad shit is going to happen. knowing that, what do you do when it does?" very pragmatic. but some people can only function with total and complete born yesterday faith, because even a little negativity/doubt would shatter them.

I liked Department of Truth 32 and 0, and am understanding Tynion incorporating into the story the fed takeover by outspoken fascists, but realized as I was organizing comics that I can't find my issue no. 30 (i have the first several TPBs, then 24-29, 31-32, 0)...

Tough. Off the top of my head I’m leaning either Parallax View or People’s Joker. Parallax View is such a fun, angry movie about political violence under capitalism and the opaque agenda elites might have. Coverups happen from laziness, while we’re left in the dark about motives for assassination.

Listening to a podcast about Watchmen. Always thought Manhattan getting at 16yr old Laurie was about Manhattan being fallibly human in a very gross way, and also perhaps her mom forcing her to follow in her footsteps and grow up too fast. Thought for sure his ex called him out on it too
