A magical spot where the houses are really caves and the only place I’ve found peperoni cruschi, crispy dried and fried sweet peppers you can eat like potato chips

I have come to the idea that we have to collectively, brutally, ritualistically kill Target just to show capital that we truly aren’t fucking around.

Did you know that IBM punch cards were the same size as dollar bills because IBM took over machines that railroads used to count dollar bills?
Did you know that the mayday call originated from the French "m'aider"?
My life is an unfettered disaster but my mind is full of useless trivia.

Remember kids, if unions didn't work, capital wouldn't spend untold billions trying to keep them out of the shops.
Why do you appreciate unions?

I’ll start:

Weekends off
Paid vacations
Work breaks
Sick leave
Paid holidays
No child labor
Safer working conditions
Health care and retirement benefits

"Elon Musk is personally responsible for the deaths of at least 400,000 children" is a stat that should be cited every time he and his pervert fanboys start yapping about birth rates
Elon Musk and the Trump administration gleefully shutting down USAID “has already caused the deaths of six hundred thousand people, two-thirds of them children.”

People throw around terms like genocide quite freely online but it’s hard to find other words to describe this level of man-made death.

Pretty much my diet, too, except for the tea
A former student saw me a few weeks ago. "YOU LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME"

Me: "It's my diet. I have meats, dairy, sugar, chocolate, veg, fruit, wheat, grains, salt, coffee, tea, whisky, gin, spices, garlic, ginger, chillies. Basically, focus on delicious, flavourful food."

They just looked at me.

Same, but since I’m not cooking a whole turkey I’m making a panade for the bread based gravy vehicle, and an ample amount of stock gets it closer to in-bird stuffing
I cook my stuffing inside the turkey. My family has been doing it that way for almost 80 years. Not a single person has ever been food poisoned. I don’t stuff it too full, I put it straight in the oven after stuffing, I monitor the stuffing temperature, it’s fucking delicious, and I DO NOT APOLOGIZE

For "reasons" we've been thinking about the Lloyds Bank Turd: the biggest fossilized human poo ever found (it's from Viking York).

It's 8" long and 2" wide. We asked AI what else is that size...

"A large cucumber, a deck of card or a thick smartphone", apparently. 😬

I'm beyond grateful that I discovered the Blanchet House café when we first moved to PDX. I've learned so much from the guests and the staff about creating community and mutual care.

Please consider donating to help provide 3 free, low-barrier meals a day along with clothes and other support.
Every day, our café staff, like Walker, open the doors to people enduring some of the hardest moments of their lives. Please consider honoring their emotionally difficult work by donating to our Give!Guide fundraiser at https://giveguide.org/nonprofits/blanchet-house-of-hospitality

We love Thanksgiving. Immigrant chef Jacques Pepin called it his favorite holiday because it’s the only one devoted to food and cooking, although TBH for us pretty much every holiday is devoted to food and cooking.
