Incredibly telling that more White House reporters made a bigger deal about Trump calling a woman “piggy” than him using a slur about people with disabilities.

Did you or someone you know dance on Soul Train in the 1970s?

I’d like to talk with you or them about that experience for my research

Thanks!

This January 21-22 CrystalCon 2026, over two days and six sessions, will explore AI's very real consequences for disabled people and everyone who has to live with the products that companies integrate with it. There's no hype, no "innovation theater," just honest conversations and practical sessions

I use alt text and/or image descriptions to provide context or clarification about what is in an image. Since I have low vision and double vision, it can be really challenging to figure out what I am looking at or spot relevant details, especially if they are hidden or low contrast.
Some are suggesting you deliberately write inaccurate or confusing alt text, because they say this confuses AI scrapers that are analyzing images.

The purpose of alt text is to help people who cannot see the image. Deliberately misrepresenting the image is a gross misuse of alt text. Don't do it.

There are people on here who get a lot of praise for their funny alt text and I hate it because nothing in the alt describes the photo. They just think they're being funny and clever when they're actually just excluding people.

Alt Text isn't the space for seo, secret notes, or inside jokes. It's for people to access media and any context or information that that media has.

If we gon make things right, we gotta find ways to make things right that don't leave us behind.

seasonal reminder that if someone says they don't drink:
-it's none of your business why
-hosts should have several non-alcoholic beverage options
-the holidays can be a tough period for non-drinkers
-many jokes about not drinking are bad
-people are burned out and might just be tired

This is the second largest payout from a private university to the Trump admin yet, second only to Columbia’s $200m

Disabled people deserve healthcare.

Disabled people deserve housing.

Disabled people deserve food.

Disabled people deserve support.

Our ability to work and produce for capitalism should not determine our value.

Disability is not a moral failing. Most people will experience it someday.

I can’t believe people in the room don’t push back. It doesn’t matter if he’s the president, part of holding him accountable is standing up to his bullying— especially if he’s doing it right in front of your face

This is how the President speaks to female journalists.

Demand better. Don’t let him demean women this way.

True story: one year, I came into the living room to hear my dad and sister excitedly tell me how bad the color contrast was for a score on a game, because the scores were in the team colors. They were both furious and yet proud to be able to tell me. I, of course, was beaming.
For those in America who will be in rooms with TVs tuned to football during this long Thanksgiving weekend, either by choice or not, you have a great chance to explain accessibility concepts. No, this is not a joke. Yes, this is based on past experiences. Yes, it has totally worked!
