Reskeet with your home river.

The river that went through the farm I grew up on was the Doniford stream.

Now I live near where the Avon joins the Severn estuary.

Reskeet with your home river.

The East River isn't actually a river, so we'll go with the Hudson.

Some of the waders at Fisherman's Steps today. A rather low 10m high tide meant the birds were quite far out.
Numbers include:
* 20 Turnstone.
* 6 Curlew.
* 1 Oystercatcher.
* 30 Redshank.

Does anyone use open earbuds instead of the regular in ear ones? My ears are starting to really hate having things stuck in them. It's just for listening to audiobooks at night so they don't have be noise cancelling. Any recommendations appreciated.

A short walk out this afternoon on some random footpaths to the south of Portishead was quite productive - highlights include Stonechat, some Mistle Thrush and a Fieldfare.

Beautiful winter morning at Portbury Wharf today. The pools weren’t as frozen as last week so more birds on the water and hedgerows were very busy with tits, gold crest, collared doves, redwing etc. reedbuntings and stonechat by north #AvonBirds #PWNR

So I just read a study that says people who take gabapentin for more than six months are at double risk of dementia.
I’ve been taking it for 13 years.
That’s not scary at all.

Cycle ride from Portishead to Pill this afternoon. Lots of Redwing seen en-route as usual, two Heron were in a random field along Sheepway; and one Curlew & a few Redshank at destination. Sadly didn't notice any Avocets.

Politics affects everything.

“Shouldn’t be politicised” = “it would be convenient for me if you don’t talk about this. *I’ll* define ‘civility’ & ‘decency’ & accuse you of having neither in hopes of embarrassing you into shutting up”
Labour councillor thinks that the murder of a woman - with plans that political parties in the UK are specifically looking to emulate - shouldn't be political.

Labour have no intention in every challenging the far right - which is why they'll be next to follow unless we stand up to them.
How low can Polanski go? Weaponising the killing of the mother of a 6 year old girl, that’s how low.

Leadership clearly isn’t a Green Party strong point.

A while ago someone went off on me about having a motability car when I should apparently buy a second hand car.

We had our MOT today and do you know how much less stress there is when you can just drop it off and know that whatever issues will be sorted and you won't be left with the bill?

Sometimes I can’t get up because my body feels like it’s made of lead and I’m wading through treacle. Sometimes I can’t get up because there’s a pile of cats on me. Most of the time it’s both.
