If you don’t think the BBC is biased then listen to #BBCLauraK this morning.

This was a Labour budget with no increase in income tax, VAT
or NI rates:-

* Interest rates coming down
* £150 off energy bill
* 500000 kids out of poverty
* More for the NHS

It shouldn’t need brave people like Sasha to stand against old-fashioned bosses who can’t let go of the past.

Workplace cultures don’t change overnight and some people will resist change. I have every reason to believe AFRS are travelling in the right direction.

Cllr Parsons doesn’t seem to regard an illegal encampment next to a centre for vulnerable adults in Southmead as ‘high impact’.

If a party that claims it stands for social justice just shifts a problem from our wealthiest to our poorest wards that will be a travesty.

❗️ This would have profound consequences for Bristol's cultural scene. The Greens need to u-turn

Budget quite literally taxes the rich and even contains a actual wealth tax (with a lower threshold than Zack's fantasy one) but, you know, facts arent that important to him

£150 cut to energy bills from next year. 👏

Inflation coming down according to the OBR.

No return to Tory austerity.

No pandering to Reform’s friends in Russia.

Labour are here for the people of the UK.

The end of the 2 child benefit cap. Fully costed and fully funded. Lifting children out of poverty.

This budget feels much closer to my Labour values than last year’s. We’re back in business!

November is Islamaphobia awareness month. The exhibition at City Hall was well worth looking at.

At a time of rising division in our country we need to stand against hate and the false narratives put across about the muslim community by some.

So “unattractive, annoying, irritating, deeply unpleasant and unnecessary” comments on social media don’t amount to harrasment. 🤔

This is a free pass for bullies and abusers everywhere, including the workplace.

25th November is International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

A very powerful article by my Labour colleagues below, with useful links.

It was me who brought forward the motion on safe travel home for NTE workers.

Politics in the morning, politics in the afternoon?

No debate that the ‘lawless’ Downs is a great place to be on a crisp autumn afternoon. I had a nice chat with 2 van dwellers. And came across this newly planted tree and bench in memory of Sam Polledri.

On Friday I was out door knocking in Southmead. A man said to me ‘I am moving, it’s not safe here for me and my young family’. Suffice to say he wasn’t a white man.
