I have now 100% completed Elden Ring twice (once on PS4 and once on PS5)
Why? Because I adore this game.
I still think I love Bloodborne more, but this is probably FromSoft’s objectively best game. Here’s hoping they don’t focus on MP games for much longer and we get a real ER sequel

I have now 100% completed Elden Ring twice (once on PS4 and once on PS5)
Why? Because I adore this game.
I still think I love Bloodborne more, but this is probably FromSoft’s objectively best game. Here’s hoping they don’t focus on MP games for much longer and we get a real ER sequel

One factor I come back to is the way in which game storefronts have a de facto monopoly over games distribution. For sure you can still buy the game elsewhere, but margins are very thin for indie devs, so deplatforming them means devs will avoid making similar games, and our media is worse for that.

I have many thoughts about this, one is I can't help but think this is all just shining a light on how games are still being held to wildly different standards than other media like film. I've played very few games like HORSES but watched so many films like it (as a connoisseur of arthouse horror).

I have many thoughts about this, one is I can't help but think this is all just shining a light on how games are still being held to wildly different standards than other media like film. I've played very few games like HORSES but watched so many films like it (as a connoisseur of arthouse horror).

I am a little disappointed when the conversation is focused around "it's art not porn!" because the adult games devs get very little support but have been dealing with this for far longer, and they've been sounding the alarm for that deplatforming coming for other games (such as LGBTQ+ content).

Also, as someone who worked on HORSES and has also made porn games + comics: I really don't appreciate when people put down one thing I made to uplift the other! Especially considering no one at Santa Ragione *ever* framed it in these terms when we were discussing the Steam ban
