Buuut I'd rather people take notice of the overwhelming power that storefronts have in determining what kind of games get made than split hairs about what games get that spotlight in the discourse.

One factor I come back to is the way in which game storefronts have a de facto monopoly over games distribution. For sure you can still buy the game elsewhere, but margins are very thin for indie devs, so deplatforming them means devs will avoid making similar games, and our media is worse for that.

I am a little disappointed when the conversation is focused around "it's art not porn!" because the adult games devs get very little support but have been dealing with this for far longer, and they've been sounding the alarm for that deplatforming coming for other games (such as LGBTQ+ content).
