BREAKING: Major clashes in southeast Chicago this pm.

DHS agents who crashed a car had eggs thrown at them. According to ABC7, they then fired pepper balls at local residents. It’s now a scene of flying rocks & tear gas.

Chicago was never a war zone. But Trump’s militia is turning it into one.

Right there in the Declaration of Independence:

“He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.”

“He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun…”

Right. There.

Trump: "I had a very wealthy person who called -- a donor, a great gentleman -- and he said, 'if there's any money necessary, shortfall, for the paying of the troops, then I will pay it.' Meaning he will pay it. How about that?"

"You make the best of it all and hope you can help make it a little better for the gurl after you."

- Miss Major, 2023 💔
One of the things I hear with some younger trans people I know is they feel, "I'm gonna get this surgery, and I'm gonna learn that way of speaking, and I'm gonna be done." You're never done. If you're a straight, cisgender person, you're never done. Things are always happening that have the potential to change you. So all I am today is not who I'm gonna be tomorrow, because of the things that happened to me today and later tonight. People forget that. "Oh, after I transition, I'm gonna be through." Well, good luck with that. 'Cause if you're through, then it's time to leave, you know, and I don't wanna go anywhere yet.
I'm in my seventies. Why didn't I stop? Number one is community. My gurls. I've had moments of thinking about stopping, but I didn't. I made sure I would step back, reju- venate myself, and then got back out there, and that's how you make a way. Our stories are not all the same, but the destination is: to get some place where we have some peace and harmony, and we can be at ease with ourselves and the people around us. You make the best of it all and hope you can help make it a little better for the gurl after you.

Just so everyone is clear, the main issue in the Supreme Court voting rights case tomorrow is whether it's racist against white people to enforce the Voting Rights Act.

I'm dead serious. We live in incredibly stupid times.

You see Vance and other would-be successors get tripped up by this all the time. It takes a special sort of skill to whine constantly in a way that your followers find endearing. Most don’t have it!
Trump is an enabler
eliasisquith.blog
this was an eye-opening revelation for me. the fact that he performs machismo and yet is a giant whiny baby about everything — these are features, not bugs. it allows whiny people, especially men, to imagine they're still macho even as they bitch and moan about every little slight.
eliasisquith.blog
please do not fool yourselves: trump whining about the photo for the TIME cover is the kind of thing that ppl who hate him cannot imagine anyone enjoying but people who like him genuinely love about him. they think "I'd feel the same way! I'd say the same thing! He's just like me!"

Why do immigrants need to be in solitary confinement?

As in, ever?
icij.org
ICIJ @icij.org · 10h
The United States maintains the world’s largest immigration detention system, with over 60,000 people in immigration detention this August — a record high. Solitary confinement has been used across administrations, increasingly more often.
Solitary confinement in ICE detention spiked during early months of the Trump administration, report finds - ICIJ
Six years after ICIJ’s Solitary Voices investigation, Physicians for Human Rights found over 10,000 people were placed in solitary confinement over a 14-month period.

one response to this (correct) observation is to say “well, the cops will attack you no matter how you dress and behave.” that’s right. images of cops and ICE beating grandmas and kids in inflatable frog costumes is a win for the opposition.

one of the reasons they're so mad at "no kings" is that they thought they were going to get a different kind of protest. they *want* the black bloc to be out there fighting with the cops. those are the images they've been trying to generate from "go." instead--

SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES
JONATHAN LEE, ET AL. v. POUDRE
SCHOOL DISTRICT R–1
ON PETITION FOR WRIT OF CERTIORARI TO THE UNITED
STATES COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE TENTH CIRCUIT
No. 25–89. Decided October 14, 2025
The petition for a writ of certiorari is denied.
Statement of JUSTICE ALITO, with whom JUSTICE
THOMAS and JUSTICE GORSUCH join, respecting the denial
of certiorari.
I concur in the denial of certiorari because petitioners do
not challenge the ground for the ruling below. But I remain
concerned that some federal courts are “tempt[ed]” to avoid
confronting a “particularly contentious constitutional questio[n]”: whether a school district violates parents’ fundamental rights “when, without parental knowledge or consent, it encourages a student to transition to a new gender
or assists in that process.” Parents Protecting Our Children, UA v. Eau Claire Area School Dist., 604 U. S. ___,
___–___ (2024) (ALITO, J., dissenting from denial of certiorari) (slip op., at 1–2) (citing Troxel v. Granville, 530 U. S.
57, 70 (2000) (plurality opinion)). Petitioners tell us that
nearly 6,000 public schools have policies—as respondent allegedly does—that purposefully interfere with parents’ access to critical information about their children’s genderidentity choices and school personnel’s involvement in and
influence on those choices. Pet. for Cert. 24. The troubling—and tragic—allegations in this case underscore the
“great and growing national importance” of the question
that these parent petitioners present. Parents Protecting
Our Children, 604 U. S., at ___ (slip op., at 1).

Against Publishing: universonline.nl/nieuws/2025/...

Preprints are read, shared, and cited, yet still dismissed as incomplete until blessed by a publisher. I argue that the true measure of scholarship lies in open exchange, not in the industry’s gatekeeping of what counts as published.

So do White people in the west just believe it’s okay to resurrect the dead to make them dance and perform for your pleasure?
Is this a cultural difference?
Because where I come from, disturbing the dead usually comes with consequences.
Bad ones.
