As someone who loves Hosoda's work normally, I was shocked just how much I hated just-about every aspect of this film. Awful writing, shocking pacing, janky animation, superfluous sequences and a rather irresponsible viewpoint on the issues he's alluding to in his imagery

I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.
