There's only peers: no superiors & no one "to look up to" in a sense of having put them on a pedestal, as there's less opportunity to be disappointed by them.

I read an interview today where Alison Bechdel talked about using chatGPT for a panel of her recent comic -- she prompted it and copied the results -- and I still don't know what to do with that. It genuinely feels in moments like this like so many of our art elders are failing us.
Catching up with what James Gurney, the Dinotopia artist, is up to these days. Pathetic.

I know this dates me a little bit, but I actually started on the old ur/ingot tablet networks back in the day. I got some awful copper from this guy named Ea-Nasir, wanted to vent about it, and well the rest is history.

So, I got a referral to see an ENT, in May. 😭
I still see my GP this month. Hopefully there's something he can do for me during that gap, but it'll wear on me if this doesn't resolve before I see a specialist, but if I see a specialist & this "resolved by itself," will I get lasting solutions? 😫

As one who has lived in the US & Canada, I can't understate to people in each place what an incredibly grounding, moderating & uniting force for empathy & good the CBC is in Canada, vs. many US places lacking easy access to NPR/PBS, thus left with radicalizing AM talk & cable news.
Protect the CBC.

Amidst a hellscape for journalism and specifically local journalism, CBC seems to be the only major news outlet that's actually *expanding* its local journalism with 11 new bureaus this year.
