I have really no horse in this race, I think Platner is actually probably pretty strong in Maine, but this idea that everyone should just bow out so the anti-incumbency forces can have a senate seat as a treat is bizarre.

I had a couple run-ins with the YCTs, arguably the most notorious rightwing college group in the country, during my time at the University of Texas, so let me just say that I am 100000% unsurprised that a bunch of college age Republicans are behaving like the worst people on the planet.

my first major project at work requires me to parse through, describe, classify, and organize around ~150k user complaints submitted through an official portal, and let me just say that literally everyone on the internet becomes INCREDIBLY UNHINGED at the slightest indication of inconvenience.

Today following outreach from @thejusticedept, Facebook removed a large group page that was being used to dox and target @ICEgov agents in Chicago.
The wave of violence against ICE has been driven by online apps and social media campaigns designed to put ICE officers at risk just for doing their jobs. The Department of Justice will continue engaging tech companies to eliminate platforms where radicals can incite imminent violence against federal law enforcement.

dunno if I agree with this characterization. polling showed that by October the Harris campaign had pulled off what was basically a voter education miracle by turning Project 2025 into an almost household name. coverage definitely could've been better, but it was the *voters* who shrugged it off.

yup. it sure does. I understand that this is Trek attempting to find a new audience that it desperately needs, but I am just not a fan of ... whatever the hell this is. I legit came to despise Discovery over the course of its entire run, and this has all the hallmarks of more of that awfulness.
